On November 01-03, 2017, the Fourth Plenary Session of the Second National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee and 12 National Furniture Standards Approval Meetings, including "Green Product Evaluation Furniture" and "Infant Mattress", were held in Chongqing. The meeting summarized the work of the National Furniture Standardization Committee in 2017 and deployed the work plan for 2018.

The main contents of the meeting are as follows:

1、 The Fourth Plenary Session of the Second National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee

（1） Review of Work in 2017

At the meeting, the main achievements of the National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee in 2017 were summarized as follows:

(1) The mandatory national standard system for furniture has been basically established;

(2) The recommended standard system for furniture has been optimized and improved, with a total of 54 current recommended national standards. The review conclusion is that 35 standards remain valid, 13 standards have been revised, and 6 standards have been converted; The current recommended national standard revision plan includes a total of 18 items, and the review comments indicate that 18 items remain valid; There are a total of 74 recommended industry standards currently in use, of which 52 have been reviewed for continued effectiveness, 14 have been revised, 4 have been directly abolished, 2 have been abolished depending on the situation, 1 has been converted, and 1 has been coordinated;

(3) Significant performance in service group standards;

(4) The revision of furniture standards is progressing smoothly;

(5) The international standardization activities for furniture have achieved initial results - the ISO/TC136/WG4 Bed Testing Methods Working Group is currently undertaken by China;

(6) Effective promotion and implementation of standards;

(7) The conversion rate of international furniture standards has been improved;

(8) The standard and quality improvement project has been promoted.

（2） Work Plan for 2018

(1) Optimize the furniture standard system;

(2) Strengthen the scope of standardization promotion efforts;

(3) Conduct research on comparing and aligning furniture quality standards;

(4) Enhance international standardization interaction;

(5) Promote group standards and enterprise standards;

(6) Improve the standardization of smart furniture;

(7) Implement standardization of green furniture manufacturing;

(8) Promote the transformation of scientific research innovation.

2、 Standard approval

The final approval of 12 national furniture standards, including "Green Product Evaluation Furniture" and "Infant Mattress", has been conducted, and a draft of the standards has been formed for approval and release by the National Standards Committee.
