(hereinafter referred to as Yike Testing) to conduct random inspections and tests on the quality of plastic toys, plush toys, fake water (crystal mud) and other products in the Nantong market.

A total of 20 batches of children's plastic toys were randomly inspected at the municipal level, all of which were qualified; 20 batches of children's plush toys were randomly inspected, and 4 batches were found to be unqualified; 30 batches of fake water (crystal mud) were randomly inspected, and 2 batches were found to be unqualified. The overall problem discovery rate is about 8.6%, and the non-conforming items include non-conforming small parts and non-conforming age range labeling.

On May 27th, the Market Supervision Administration of Nantong City held an administrative interview and standard promotion meeting for the unqualified quality of children's toy products in the city. The head of Yike Testing Laboratory was invited to attend the meeting to promote the standards for children's toy products, analyze in detail the unqualified items and possible consequences, as well as the precautions for consumers when choosing children's toys.

1. Pay attention to the markings and instructions on the outer packaging of the product


Plastic toys are products subject to mandatory certification (CCC) by the state. When purchasing plastic toys, attention should be paid to the markings and instructions on the outer packaging of the product. Warning or other safety information such as age warning signs, specific danger warning signs, manufacturer or seller's name and address, trademark, and applicable standards should be searched for on the packaging. Touch the surface of the plastic toy with your hand to see if there are any sharp points or edges that may cause punctures. Are the gaps between the various components of the toy connected and loose.



2. Use your eyes, hands to touch, and nose to smell


When choosing plush toys, one should observe with their eyes, hands, and nose whether the appearance of the toy is beautiful, whether the stitching is fine, and whether the small parts such as the eyes, nose, and decorations of the toy are firm; Touch with your hands to see if the toy is soft and fluffy, and if there are burrs or sharp edges on the zipper and other metal accessories; Smell the toy with your nose to see if there is any strange or irritating odor.



3. Carefully choose internet famous toys


Internet famous toys such as fake water (crystal mud) should be carefully selected, and parents should pay attention to the care of children while playing with fake water, and be particularly careful not to ingest them by mistake to avoid danger.



4. Pay attention to toy small parts


When playing with toys for young children, attention should be paid to whether the small parts of the toys are properly stored to avoid the danger of accidental ingestion and suffocation. After opening the packaging bag or film of the toy, promptly throw it into the trash can and keep it away from children to prevent injury.



5. Pay attention to the knots of toys


Try not to buy toys with knots for infants and young children. Parents should take care of children while they are playing to avoid accidents such as tripping or getting tangled in knots.



6. Do not buy toys with three no's


Do not purchase "three no" toys without warning signs, brand models, age group labels, execution standards, or usage instructions.
