On 16th May 2024, a seminar on child car seat standards was successfully held at the Palladium Hotel in Kunshan, China, hosted by EQO Tech Inspection and Certification Co. More than 130 representatives of child car seat manufacturers from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other regions attended the seminar.
In this seminar, three expert teachers, Ye Feng, Project Manager of China Toys and Baby Products Association, Dong Degang, Deputy General Manager of CACC, and Ding Xuchun, Head of Certification of TUV NORD, were invited as expert lecturers, and together with Long Haihua, Senior Manager of Simulated Crash Laboratory of EQO, they brought the participants the latest progress and update of the child car seat standards, and discussed the industry trends together, They discussed industry trends, CCC certification, international standards, and common problems in testing to protect children's safe travelling.
At the beginning of the conference, Mr Xu Liang, Deputy General Manager of EQO, delivered a speech on behalf of EVERKE to express the most sincere welcome to all the experts and colleagues. Mr Xu said that with the booming development of our country's automobile industry, children travelling by car are becoming more and more frequent, so it is especially important to reduce the risk of children travelling by car effectively. Child safety seats are the most effective means to do so.
Mr. Dong, President of China Certification Centre Limited, delivered a speech, mentioning that since the implementation of CCC certification for motor vehicle child passenger restraint systems since 1 September 2015, the sampling inspection pass rate of car child safety seats has increased from less than 10% to 97%, which ensures the safety of children's products and previews the latest developments of the 2024 market regulation.
During the meeting, Mr Ye, General Manager of China Toys and Baby Products Association, focused on the trend of the children's car seat industry, detailing the sales of children's safety seats on major platforms and the fact that, in addition to product safety and price, comfort is the primary consideration of the interviewed consumers in purchasing children's safety seats. This will help enterprises gain insights into the latest trends in the industry.
Mr. Dong Dong of CCA Certification Centre Ltd. shared the certification industry data template and analysis of certification results, feedback on government regulation and market regulation dynamics in 2024. Helping enterprises to understand the latest market regulation dynamics.
TUV NORD Mr. Ding made a detailed analysis and explanation of ‘EU UN R129 standard introduction & E4 certification’. Help enterprises accurately grasp the core points of product certification.
Mr. Long, Manager of EQO Crash Simulation Laboratory, gave an in-depth analysis of the latest changes in the FMVSS standards for child safety seats, which will help enterprises to point out the direction in the process of product R&D and production, and to ensure that their products comply with the most stringent safety requirements. He also introduced the main differences between the Canadian standard and the American standard, the analysis of the Australian standard and the common problems in the testing process, which helped enterprises understand the regulations and standards of different countries, cope with the changes of the new standard and avoid the product safety problems effectively.
During the meeting, the delegates discussed and exchanged views on the difficulties and pain points encountered in the process of R&D and production from the practical point of view of their respective enterprises, and the lecturers provided detailed answers to the testing and certification questions raised by the delegates, which resulted in a warm response to the seminar.
In addition to in-depth discussion, the meeting also arranged a visit to the laboratory. Guided by Mr. Long, the lab manager, the delegates visited eqo's simulated crash lab and dummy room, and gained a more intuitive and in-depth understanding of the rigorous testing of child safety seats in simulated crashes, dynamic performance tests and other aspects. The delegates highly affirmed and praised eqo's professional equipment, technical ability and service level, and expressed that they would further strengthen the communication and cooperation.
