The sampling products were randomly purchased from Jingdong Mall, Tmall Mall and offline stores in Nanjing, and a total of 12 brands of 13 hot-selling children's bicycles, 26 brands and 28 models of toy electric vehicles were compared and tested.

This comparative test mainly includes four indicators: toxic and harmful substance test, structural safety, and ease of use of children's bicycles. The test results showed that all the heavy metal tests were qualified, and the accessible parts of 5 samples were detected with excessive phthalates. 5 products were found to have non-compliance with mandatory standards, and 3 of them had non-conformities related to product safety and will not participate in star rating.

Hu Aisheng, senior engineer of Yike Testing, said: "We found three parts of this bicycle, the brake line, the saddle leather, and the handlebars, which contain plasticizers. Referring to the national toy standard, the plasticizer was detected to exceed the national standard by more than 100 times, seriously exceeding the standard. What are the dangers of plasticizers? It mainly has a great impact on the child's liver, kidneys, mental development and reproductive development. ”

The three products that have reached five-star in all indicators this time are Goodbaby, Decathlon and Ninebot brand bicycles, and consumers can buy them with confidence.

A total of 28 batches of products were sampled in the comparative test of toy electric vehicles, focusing on four indicators: hazardous substances, structural safety, electrical safety and ease of use. The results showed that 10 batches of products did not meet the standard requirements, of which 8 products had excessive plasticizer content, 2 products had activity gap problems, and 1 product had the risk of short circuit in the battery, and consumers could be accidentally injured; 1 product lacks a manual and consumers may not be able to use the product correctly.

Zhu Guang, director of Yike Testing Regulations, said: Like this toy electric vehicle, there is a child in the process of steering, the wheels and the body form a squeeze clamp, which may hurt the child's fingers or toes.

According to the test, plasticizers are commonly used in production and processing of modification additives, and phthalates are a kind of plasticizers, when they exceed the standard, it may cause harm to children who are often in contact, such as suppressing immune system function, affecting cell activity, easily leading to gene mutations, causing developmental and reproductive disorders, malformations and death, etc., which should be paid attention to by consumers and manufacturers.
