On November 10-11, 2016, the Second Third Plenary Session of the National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee and six national furniture standard approval meetings, including "Office Furniture - Wooden Cabinets and Shelves", were held in Hangzhou. The meetings reviewed and reported on the work in 2016, and deployed the work plan for 2017.

The main contents of the meeting are as follows:


1、 The Second Third Plenary Session of the National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee


(1) Review of Work in 2016


At the meeting, the main achievements of the National Furniture Standardization Technical Committee in 2016 were summarized as follows:


(1) Simplified and integrated mandatory furniture standards - The Home Standards Committee conducted a review and evaluation of 14 mandatory national standards, 1 industry standard, and 5 national mandatory revision plan projects under its centralized management, and put forward suggestions for re examination work.


(2) Optimize the recommended standards for furniture, with a total of 54 current recommended national standards. The re examination conclusion is that 35 standards remain valid, 13 standards have been revised, and 6 standards have been converted; The current recommended national standard revision plan includes a total of 18 items, and the review comments indicate that 18 items remain valid; There are a total of 74 recommended industry standards currently in use, of which 52 have been re evaluated as still valid, 14 have been revised, and 4 have been directly abolished.


(3) The ISO/TC136/WG4 Creative Working Group is currently being undertaken by China to carry out international standardization activities for furniture.


(4) Research on the comparison of furniture safety standards at home and abroad (18 safety standards were compared, focusing on 21 detection methods and 120 indicators and methods).


(2) Work Plan for 2017


(1) Optimize the furniture standard system;


(2) Strengthen the scope of standardization promotion efforts;


(3) Conduct research on comparing and aligning furniture quality standards;


(4) Enhance international standardization interaction;


(5) Promote group standards and enterprise standards;


(6) Promote the standardization of Internet furniture;


(7) Promote the transformation of scientific research innovation.


2、 Standard approval


The final approval of six national furniture standards, including "Office Furniture - Wooden Cabinets and Shelves," has been conducted, and a draft of the standards has been formed for approval and release by the National Standards Committee.
